Cloud and Venice Series

After opening a show in Venice in April 2024, Lidia extended her stay in the city after a fellow artist friend offered her studio space on Lido, where she created new bodies of work. During this time, the artist also frequented Murano, learning about the ancient art of glassblowing. Thus, “Cloud Series” is formed by abstract objects embodied in glass on the Venetian island of Murano, while “Venice Period” is compiled out of a collection of graphics created using traditional Italian paint.

In her works, Lidia often refers to the sky as a symbolic space of free and boundless existence. The form and transparent essence of the “Cloud Series” objects convey the meditative function of the sky, which can now be preserved and encapsulated in the space of one's home. The same sensation can be felt through the vibrant and vivid graphics of ”Venice Period.”
